I on Infrastructure
I on Infrastructure encouraged audiences to consider their relationship to public works and civil engineers. It explored how people see infrastructure; see, that is, how they perceive it with their eyes and how they understand it. It concentrated on the visual because most people depend on appearance as the primary means of establishing their conceptions of infrastructure.
I on Infrastructure consisted of installations inspired by works of well-known artists. Each installation featured a civil engineering structure, product, or material. The quotation that accompanied each installation encouraged exhibition visitors to consider an idea that shapes public perceptions of technology. A text explained the idea in terms of the object on display.
